Yeah, I totally missed Cosplay Thursday this week. To make up for it, here are some of my favorite costumes from this year's San Diego Comic-Con. Lots of awesome cosplay this year, and this is just a tiny fraction. (more…)... more.
  • Jukebox Tales – “All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You” by Heart (1990)

Today begins the first in a new series of music video reviews. The idea came from our own Innosin but I'll be handling at least the first in the category. The video comes to us from the band Heart and helps put visuals to the balls-out crazy song "All I Wanna Do is Make Love to You" (1990). Heart is a great band, and I love their songs "Crazy on You" and "Barracuda." However this one... this one i... more.
  • Cosplay Thursday – Captain America

Here's one of the better Captain America costumes I've seen. While female characters can be hard for many to cosplay due to their insane hourglass figures, that's not to say guys have it easy either. My scrawny ass would make a terrible Cap, and I've seen some who fill his uniform a bit too much. This guy, however, has the manly jawline and burly-enough body to make it work, opted for the shin... more.
  • Cartoons on DVD: C.O.P.S.

C.O.P.S. is a cartoon I'd never heard about until a couple years ago. Maybe I watched it as a kid and totally forgot, but I'd hope I'd remember a show as cool as this. Featuring the often-bizarre character designs of Peter Chung (of Aeon Flux), C.O.P.S. is an animated series about a team of police officers, many of which have special equipment of some kind; Bowser has a robot dog named Blitz, "Bul... more.
  • 5 Toys We Loved (and Our Parents Hated)

Parents hate toys. However, parents do, at best, like to see their kid happy - and at worst see them shut up (and most are a mix of both). There are many toys your parents got for you, but there are some that will stick in our hearts for all our remaining years. The toys that defined our youth, the action figures we incorporated into every scenario our yet-uncorrupted imagination could think up. T... more.
  • Flowchart for ’80s and ’90s Cartoons

My word, this flowchart was a pain in the ass to make! Yes, I'll get questions about why I didn't add Batman: The Animated Series or Eek! The Cat or Rugrats or any of tons of shows not included here. This is confined to roughly the '80s and the first half of the '90s, doesn't include superhero series or Nicktoons, and also omits a bunch of more comedic series (Garfield, Beavis & Butthead, Flin... more.
  • Cosplay Thursday – Power Girl

Power Girl's a tricky cosplay to pull off. While most superheroes have impossible bodies, Peej goes even further with her huge rack front and center, shown off by her "boob window" costume. This cosplay by srsRazzmatazz manages to pull the look off perfectly, using her hourglass figure to its full potential to really succeed as Power Girl. Add in the cape and a perfect wig, and you've got ... more.

Commercials can be annoying, they can be very annoying, and they can feature Rowdy Roddy Piper screaming at you to buy toys. Yeah, this is the last one. (more…)... more.
