My word, this flowchart was a pain in the ass to make! Yes, I’ll get questions about why I didn’t add Batman: The Animated Series or Eek! The Cat or Rugrats or any of tons of shows not included here. This is confined to roughly the ’80s and the first half of the ’90s, doesn’t include superhero series or Nicktoons, and also omits a bunch of more comedic series (Garfield, Beavis & Butthead, Flintstones Kids, and a crapload of others). So enjoy this chart and maybe you’ll check out some series you’ve never seen before. There are quite a few on this list which stand up quite well, whether they’re simply solid shows or so balls-out insane that they’re too fantastic to miss. Inhumanoids is one of them. Dinosaucers is not.

The flowchart should have included at least Pac-Man, one of the three Donkey Kong cartoon series (Dk/DK Jr. back in the early 80s, DK Country in the 1990s), and Transformers Beast Wars…

I love the flowchart especially the way you handled shows that fall under multiple watching criteria. I understand the enormity of this daunting task that you have undertaken and believe that there is one missing show that you might want to add under the “Celebrity” category which is: The Gary Coleman Show. I’m looking forward to checking back often to see the Superhero & Nicktoons charts.

Almost added the Gary Coleman cartoon, but it seemed to fit more in those wacky Hanna-Barbera cartoons of which there are roughly eleventy-billion.

I tried not to include too many shows which were more strictly ‘comedy’, and the Pac-Man series was along those lines. I almost added DK Country and Beast Wars, but they premiered in 1996 and I didn’t want to include too many that were late 90s or I’d have another few dozen to throw onto the chart :)

What about animaniacs? What about FREAKAZOID! And all the awesome Disney cartoons!? Also do NOT like you what said about Aeon Flux, you totally dissed it, that show warped me, in totally good way. I think about 80% of the shows I watched as a kid AREN’t on here. A a not a happy monocle.

Well like I said, this was mostly centered around action shows rather than episodic comedies like Animaniacs or Tiny Toon Adventures or Gilligan’s Planet. Freakazoid was a superhero so he’ll be on the superhero shows chart.
